CHANTILLY, VA (Feb. 20, 2020) – In a move to harness corporate growth potential and maximize
operating efficiencies, TechLaw Holdings, Inc., is now TechLaw Consultants, Inc. In addition to dropping
the holding company structure, the change means that the environmental consulting company’s
previously incorporated subsidiaries—TechLaw and TLI Solutions—will drop the ‘Inc.’ from their names,
while operating as part of TechLaw Consultants, Inc.
“This change reflects a greater unity in our company, which will lead to more sharing of ideas and
services, more cost-effective operations and, most importantly, one company that is responsive to an
even-wider array of clients,” says Brian Shutler, Chairman and CEO of TechLaw Consultants, Inc. “We
believe this represents an opportunity for us to grow our business across numerous areas in the public
and private sector.”
The name change has been approved by the Virginia Secretary of State. TechLaw Consultants, Inc., like
the predecessor holding company, will remain based in Chantilly, Va.
The TechLaw name goes back to when TechLaw, Inc., was founded in 1983, with the US Environmental
Protection Agency as its primary client. The holding company structure was adopted in 2006 as
TechLaw, Inc., was diversifying operations in federal, state and local environmental consulting, as well as
litigation support, resulting in three different, incorporated companies. Since that time, TechLaw
Holdings sold off its litigation support subsidiary (TechLaw Solutions, Inc.), while also launching
AlterEcho, which concentrates exclusively on private-sector environmental consulting.
As AlterEcho grew extensively over the last several years, as did business with the US Department of
Defense—combined with a 37-year reputation primarily supporting the US EPA—it became clear that
the company and its clients would benefit from a more streamlined operation, Shutler says.
On the surface, he says, most clients will not likely notice many differences: TechLaw will continue to
provide consulting support to US EPA and several state and local agencies, while TLI Solutions will
primarily support the US DoD and Department of Energy. AlterEcho will continue providing its
environmental consulting expertise to private-sector clients.
“What all of our clients will ultimately benefit from are the shared resources and expertise that will
provide even greater value,” says Patricia Derocher, Chief Operating Officer of TechLaw Consultants, Inc.
“We will have a wide range of skills available under one roof, ready to meet any client’s needs at any
point.”
Adds Shutler: “With 200 employees and 17 offices across the country, we offer decades of experience
and expertise, along with client collaboration and communication that make us accessible—and
effective.”
