Per— and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are a class of man-made chemicals widely used in industrial and consumer products such as stain—resistant fabric, water—repellant apparel, food packaging, engineering coatings, textiles, and firefighting foams. Their regulation—under both federal and state statutes—continues to evolve, as does the science examining them. This paper reviews the latest risks, research and regulation associated with PFAS.
